About the Jackson Junior golf Tour

Our Mission

The RW Mercer Jackson Junior Golf Tour was established in 2004 by David Gilpin who wanted to foster a love for golf among young players. We aim to provide a supportive environment where kids can compete, learn, and grow their skills on the course.

Our Tour requires a $20 registration fee, and then juniors sign up for 9- and 18-hole events ranging from $15-$24. See the list of events below for more information on fees.

Golfers should have some basic experience, knowledge and understanding of the game. Kids ages 8-18 are welcome.

Our Tour's History

The Jackson Junior Golf Tour was the vision of one of Jackson, Michigan's top players who put his clubs away, so he could focus on the next generation of players.

Jeremy Rothenberger Scholarship

A graduate of Concord High School, Jeremy died in 2004 as result of an automobile accident in Ft. Myers at the age of 28. Jeremy was an aspiring PGA player who was playing professional golf on the NGA Hooters Tour and various other tours with a lot of success.

Jeremy Rothenberger Scholarship

Patrick  passed away in 2020 at age 24.  

He was a member of the R.W. Mercer Jackson Junior Golf Tour starting in 2006 playing in the Boys 10 and under 9-hole division. He played in over 40 tournaments thru 2012. Patrick was a  fine player once shooting 68 at Cascades G.C.

Doug Martin Scholarship

Doug did not grow up around the game, but started playing in his 20's during the 1960's and fell in love with the game. He won a number of local tournaments and enjoyed helping young people become passionate about the game.
