Gilpin/Dirlam Family Scholarship

The R.W. Mercer Jackson Junior Golf Tour is an invaluable part of the Jackson Area golf community teaching young golfers the correct way to play the game so the game will continue to grow.  Dave Gilpin recognized this and made the JJGT what it is today; a training ground for young golfers to learn the history and the rules of golf, the right way.  To honor all of Dave’s golfing accomplishments and hard work on behalf of young golfers, the Dirlam family has endowed a scholarship in his honor.  The scholarship will be awarded to a college-bound high school senior who has demonstrated great sportsmanship and a passion for the game of golf through their consistent competition on the JJGT.  The scholarship is not strictly talent focused and the recipient does not have to join their college golf team, rather the scholarship is based on the recipient demonstrating fair competition, professionalism, friendship and respect toward others and self-discipline. These are characteristics required to succeed in golf, and in life.
